Now imagine the same view from the underside of the car on a forest or gravel track. Little wonder that such a touch, hard-wearing material as Kaylan is proving so popular in the world of motorsport.
The need for protection
Picture the scene. Up to 450 brake horse-power is going to the wheels whilst at the same time all manor of stones, mud, grit and sand is being thrown up at high velocity. The damage this can cause to the highly precise and extremely expensive parts such as the exposed suspension and other mechanicals doesn't bear thinking about. Especially when the manufacturers have spent millions of pounds designing such thoroughbreds.
The simple solution
Fortunately, Kaylan special elastomers are purpose-built to overcome the rigours of such harsh environments. Tough, durable, able to withstand repeated flexing and resistant to both high impact and abrasion, it's the perfect material to protect such an expensive investment.
Effective in all conditions
Components made from Kaylan, such as underbody protection, mud flaps and wheel arch linings, offer the same excellent performance in extremes of weather. Whether the temperature is below 30°c or in excess of 80°c. Plus its effective resistance to oils, greases and other potentially harmful chemicals made it the ideal material for use around high powered engines.
