F1 In Schools

Kay-Dee is very happy to announce that they are helping Parkside School in Bradford in their efforts in the F1 In Schools initiative.

We were very pleased to be able to offer some of the pupils a tour of the factory and to sit and discuss their ideas for their designs in this exciting competition. Kay-Dee have already helped by rapid prototyping some aerodynamic parts for the models that the students have designed and look forward to being able to help out with the teams as the competition progresses. We were very impressed by the students. Who knows - we may have just met a world championship-winning designer of the future.

If you have an automotive application where you think Kay-Dee might be able to help, why not contact us to see what we can do for you?

So if you need any of the above items or anything else you can think of, either to replace an OEM part or a bespoke custom piece, why not contact us and see how Kaylan® can help?

Problem solving -helping hands

Lucy is a young girl who has cerebral palsy. She can only use one arm and that makes eating her favourite yoghurts  a bit tricky.

To help, Kay Dee designed a holder with a tapered hole which gently grips the pot allowing her to enjoy the yoghurt without needing help.

Once Lucy was happy that it worked we made a series of different sizes to accomodate different sizes of pots.

As director Rob Ward said "It was a really small-scale example of what we do everyday. There was a problem, we helped design a solution, made some tooling and then made some parts in different colours and hardnesses until the client, Lucy, was happy."

If you have a problem that needs a practical solution why not contact us and see if we can give you a helping hand?

Supplying a winning formula

Hyundai’s victory and their 1-2 Power Stage result proved that Volkswagen finally have a worthy rival. As a proud supplier to Hyundai Motorsport we would like to congratulate the team on their success in Argentina this weekend. Gracious in the win they sent us a thank you,

“I would like to thank you for your cooperation in 2016. Without your support last weekend’s victory in Argentina wouldn’t be possible!”  RK

“Be prepared to receive further RFQs very soon! J

Volkswagen arrived in South America confident that they would win Rally Argentina, aware that Jari-Matti Latvala stood more chance of victory while Ogier suffered unfavourable running order position. This rally was their last unconquered WRC challenge. After leading for over half the distance their expectations vanished when Latvala’s front suspension gave way and he crashed.

After Kris Meeke’s surprise first win 12 months ago this was the turn of Paddon and his 57 year old codriver John Kennard, gaining New Zealand’s first WRC win on his country’s national ANZAC holiday. After Paddon very nearly lost the lead on the penultimate stage, everything finally turned out right, a veritable emotional roller coaster.
